| An electronic version of the Fall 2007 Board Review is now available. Each lecture consists of a split screen format with a window displaying the lecturers' PowerPoint slides and the other window displaying video of the lecturer. The Electronic Review is now available for the same price in two formats, as either a DVD or a 5 CD set (limited numbers of CD format available). |
| The DVD format (only) includes the bonus feature of extra audio-only files of all the lectures that can be uploaded and played on portable MP3 players. This extra feature is not available on the CD set. |
| The Review requires Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6+ (free at http://www.microsoft.com) and the latest version of Windows Media Player (free at http://www.microsoft.com). Your computer will need a sound card and speakers to hear the audio. The Review requires either Windows XP or Vista operating systems. The Review is not compatible with Apple/Mac operating systems. A current version of the Internet Explorer browser is also required, as the CDs will not work with Mozilla Firefox or Netscape browsers. You must accept ActiveX content when playing the Review. The DVD format can be played in a DVD or DVD/CD combination drive of a Windows-based computer. The DVD will not play in free standing DVD player. A high speed connection (DSL or cable) is NOT required for this Electronic Review. |
| As a demonstration of the new format utilized for the Certification /
Recertification Review recording, you may view the complete lecture on
"A
Review of Hematology", presented by Allan Platt, PA-C. Mr Platt is a popular
lecturer at state and national conferences. The lecture
objectives and test
questions are also available for
examination. A copy of the lecture handout is also
available. To view this
demonstration you will need a current (i.e., Version 6 or higher) version of
Internet Explorer and of Windows Media Player ( Version 10). A high speed
connection (Cable or DSL) is required. Please be patient as the video file
buffers and prepares to play; this may take a minute or two. Please note that
this demonstration utilizes streaming files over the Internet. As bandwidth
and connection speed can affect your reception of this file, we have chosen to
release the final Certification/Recertification set only as a DVD or CD set
which will not require an internet connection. If you are prompted by your
Browser that "Active X" content is detected, please "allow blocked content" to
view the demo. ( Mr Platt also has web articles available on
Anemia and on
Bleeding Disorders.) | |
| The Review consists of lectures to refresh the learner's knowledge on a wide range of core medical problems and content including reviews of Dermatology, Pediatrics, Fluid and Electrolytes, GI Disorders, Psychiatry, ENT, Ophthalmology , Cardiology, Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Neurological Disorders, Orthopedics, Endocrinology, Pulmonary Disorders, Infectious Disease, Hematology, EKG interpretation, Chest X-ray interpretation, OB-GYN, and other topics. |
| The Review Conference is designed based upon the list of topics potentially on the PANCE / PANRE as provided by the NCCPA, and by review of the PANCE / PANRE board exam matrix of question distribution. Obviously, the exact content of the PANCE and PANRE exams is confidential and not known to the developers of the Review Conference, and no suggestion is made that the Review Conference or practice exam questions represent the level of complexity or distribution of topics on the actual examinations. |
