Live Review in Atlanta - 2008
 | The Emory Physician Assistant Program is pleased to announce the
18th annual Certification / Recertification Review for Physician
Assistants. The Review is scheduled
for September 23-27, 2008 and will be held at the Holiday Inn
Conference Center, Decatur, GA. The Review will take place on Tuesday,
September 23, 4:30 - 7 PM , and Wednesday - Saturday, September 24-27 from
approximately 8:00 AM -6:00 PM each day (see lecture
schedule). Dinner
will be provided on Tuesday September 23; lunches will be provided September
24-27. |
 | The Holiday
Inn Conference Center is in the heart of vital
downtown Decatur, approximately three
miles from the Emory campus. There are numerous restaurants and several clubs
/ music venues within walking distance. The hotel is approximately 2 blocks
from the east line of the MARTA train,
making Hartsfield-Jackson airport and downtown Atlanta (Underground and
other attractions) accessible. Rooms are available for the conference at a
rate of $109+ tax/ night. Convenient garage parking is available for a nominal
daily charge. Reservations by attendees must be received on or before
Wednesday, August 27, 2008 to receive the special conference rate. Please
indicate the "Emory PA Board Review" when making room reservations to obtain

 | The conference is limited to 300 participants. Tuition is $475 prior to
8/1/08, $525 after 8/1/08, and $550 on site (Pre-registration closes on
9/20/08; onsite registration is limited and payment on site is by cash or
certified check only). PA Program discounts for groups of 10 or more
students are available upon request. If interested in program discounts,

Alumni and active military attending the conference will receive a $75
discount for the full conference. Please indicate alumni status on the
registration form. The DVD version of the Fall 2007 Board Review conference
will be provided to all 4-day attendees at no additional cost. |
 | The Review consists of lectures to refresh the learner's knowledge on a
wide range of core medical problems and content including reviews of
Dermatology, Pediatrics, Fluid and Electrolytes, GI Disorders, Psychiatry,
ENT, Ophthalmology , Cardiology, Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Neurological Disorders,
Orthopedics, Endocrinology, Pulmonary Disorders, Infectious Disease,
HIV/AIDS, Hematology, EKG interpretation, Chest X-ray interpretation, OB-GYN, and other

 | The Review Conference is designed based upon the list of topics
potentially on the PANCE / PANRE as provided by the NCCPA, and by review of
the PANCE / PANRE board exam matrix of question distribution. Obviously, the
exact content of the PANCE and PANRE exams is confidential and not known to
the developers of the Review Conference, and no suggestion is made that the
Review Conference or practice exam questions represent the level of complexity
or distribution of topics on the actual examinations. |
 | An optional evening professional CME event is again being offered this year on the evening
(7:00-8:00pm) of September 23, 2008: Put a Palm in your Practice

For those who approach new technology with fear and trembling, come see
how PDAs can help bring the latest evidence based information to your
fingertips at the bedside. PDAs can help reduce medication errors, organize
your schedule, help your differential diagnosis and even study for the
boards. This one hour workshop will demonstrate the latest medical software
and hardware in a user friendly manner. There will be a drawing for free
software products.
The PDA session is optional, and will have a separate $75 registration
fee which includes a full textbook with demonstration video CD-ROM.
 | This program has been reviewed and is approved for a maximum of 35.5
hours of AAPA Category I (Preapproved) CME credit by the Physician Assistant
Review Panel. Physician assistants should claim only those hours actually
spent participating in the CME activity.
This program was planned in accordance with AAPA’s CME Standards for Live
Programs and for Commercial Support of Live Programs.
