bulletThe Emory Physician Assistant Program is pleased to announce the 17th annual Certification / Recertification Review for Physician Assistants. The Review is scheduled for September 26-29, 2007 and will be held at the Holiday Inn Conference Center, Decatur, GA. This location is in the heart of vital downtown Decatur, approximately three miles from the Emory campus. There are numerous restaurants and several clubs / music venues within walking distance. The hotel is approximately 2 blocks from the east line of the MARTA train, making Hartsfield-Jackson airport and downtown Atlanta  (Underground and other attractions) accessible. Rooms are available for the conference at a rate of $109+ tax/ night. If you are attending, you may want to download this list of places to eat and things to see in the vicinity of downtown Decatur.

bulletAn optional evening professional CME event will be added this year, occurring on the evening of September 25, 2007: Put a Palm in your Practice or PDAs for PAs:

For those who approach new technology with fear and trembling, come see how PDAs can help bring the latest evidence based information to your fingertips at the bedside. PDAs can help reduce medication errors, organize your schedule, help your differential diagnosis and even study for the boards. This one hour workshop will demonstrate the latest medical software and hardware in a user friendly manner. There will be a drawing for free software products.

The PDA session is optional, and will have a separate small registration fee.

bulletThe Review consists of lectures to refresh the learner's knowledge on a wide range of core medical problems and content including reviews of Dermatology, Pediatrics, Fluid and Electrolytes, GI Disorders, Psychiatry, ENT, Ophthalmology , Cardiology, Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Neurological Disorders, Orthopedics,  Endocrinology, Pulmonary Disorders, Infectious Disease, Hematology, EKG interpretation, Chest X-ray interpretation, OB-GYN, and other topics.

bulletThe Review Conference is designed based upon the list of topics potentially on the PANCE / PANRE as provided by the NCCPA, and by review of the PANCE / PANRE board exam matrix of question distribution. Obviously, the exact content of the PANCE and PANRE exams is confidential and not known to the developers of the Review Conference, and no suggestion is made that the Review Conference or practice exam questions represent the level of complexity or distribution of topics on the actual examinations.

bulletThis program has been reviewed and is approved for a maximum of 35 hours of AAPA Category I (Preapproved) CME credit by the Physician Assistant Review Panel. Physician assistants should claim only those hours actually spent participating in the CME activity.

This program was planned in accordance with AAPA’s CME Standards for Live Programs and for Commercial Support of Live Programs.
